AHL adds to league hockey staff | TheAHL.com
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … American Hockey League President and CEO Scott Howson announced today the following changes to the league’s hockey staff:
• Stephen Thomson you have been promoted Executive Director, Hockey Operations.
• Michael Demarin you are named Manager, Hockey Administration. Demarin comes to the AHL from Boston College, where he worked for the university’s men’s hockey, softball and soccer programs while earning a master’s degree in sports administration.
• Shannon Chiras you are named Coordinator, Hockey Operations. Chiras was most recently the team manager for the men’s hockey program at Boston University while earning his master’s degree in administrative studies.
Operating since 1936, the AHL serves as the premier league for the development of players, coaches, managers, administrators and broadcasters for all National Hockey League organizations. About 90 percent of today’s NHL players graduated from the American Hockey League, and more than 130 honorary members of the Hockey Hall of Fame spent time in the AHL during their careers.
