Katie Couric rips Kamala Harris for word salad answers at campaign talks: ‘Answer the god— question’
Katie Couric took a swipe at Vice President Kamala Harris for not responding to various interviews leading up to the presidential election.
On Thursday’s episode of her “Next Question with Katie Couric” podcast, the veteran host had a lengthy post-election interview with MSNBC host and Democratic spokeswoman Jen Psaki, who said she thought one of Harris’ “better” interviews was her Fox News. sit down with Bret Baier.
“I always find that people do better when they’re asked really challenging, direct questions. I always felt that way about Hillary Clinton,” Couric said. “When you’re giving them these almost weird, like amorphous softballs, it’s really hard to hone your message and be concise and say what you really need to say.”
“I’ve heard that too, and again, I think [Harris] he did well in many areas, but I was annoyed by his inability to answer questions succinctly at times,” Jen said.

“Like, when he was asked about changing the Supreme Court in that CNN town hall, he had a chance to talk about ethics and what, you know, [Supreme Court Justices Samuel] Alito and Clarence Thomas were doing them, and he answered, like, in one sentence, and then he moved on to something unrelated to the question,” Couric said. “You know, people notice that, and it’s like, ‘Answer. g-dd–n question, please!'”
He then addressed Harris’ now-infamous comments on “The View” where he was asked what he would do differently for President Biden, calling it “one of the most damaging things.”
“Okay, Jen, you’re an insider. Why didn’t Joe Biden say, ‘Listen, I know you’re going to have to distance yourself from these administrations. Let’s talk about places where you can, where they’re legal. , and God speed,'” Couric asked. “Because—I think someone wrote that it’s almost as if they’re more afraid of hurting Joe Biden’s feelings than winning the election.”
JEN PSAKI WATCHES LEFT’S GAME OF RACISM ON HARRIS DUMP: ‘NO WAY DEMOCRACY WORKS’
Psaki, who served as Biden’s White House press secretary before joining MSNBC, responded that it has been a “unique and painful summer” for Biden and that “there is a weakness” about his separation from the Democratic Party. He also pointed out that Biden was “loved” by the party when he left and that Harris had “gained the politics of that in a deceptive way.”
“It seems to me, if I were running for president, Jen, I would sit down with the confidence of my mind, and say, ‘Okay, let’s play these questions. What am I going to say?'” said Couric.
“And I would have a template that I would take with me to every interview, and I would review it and say, you know, ‘This is what I believe, and this is how I’m going to handle it.’ Now, why didn’t they—it didn’t seem like that was done, he wondered.

Couric also knocked the vice president for going weeks without doing an interview when he first emerged as the Democratic nominee, saying it “drives me crazy as a consumer.”
“What was that?” asked the former host of “Today”.
“I don’t know,” Psaki replied before suggesting that the Harris campaign was preparing for the debate.
“He should have been everywhere,” Couric said later.
